This page explains what personal information The GaDangme collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal language.
Who we are
The GaDangme runs this website at thegadangme.com. We are what data protection law calls the “data controller” for the information described below, which means we are responsible for looking after it.
The GaDangme is run by Naa Adjeley Kwei, a sole trader trading as Tsofanye.

What we collect, and why
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. We use them only to read your message and reply to it. We do not add you to any mailing list from the contact form.
Our lawful basis: legitimate interests. We have a genuine reason to read and answer messages people choose to send us.
We keep these messages for 2 years, and then delete them.
When you place an order
We collect your name, billing address, delivery address, email address and phone number. We need these to take payment, send you what you ordered, keep you updated about the order and deal with any return.
We never see or store your card details. When you pay, your card information goes directly to Stripe, our payment processor. Depending on how you choose to pay, it may instead go to Amazon Pay, Klarna or Clearpay. Those companies are responsible for your payment information under their own privacy policies.
Our lawful basis: performance of a contract, because we cannot send you an order without them. We also keep basic order records to meet a legal obligation, since tax law requires us to.
When you join the newsletter
Our newsletter is run entirely by a company called Kit. When you click Join the Community you are taken to their website, and the email address you give them is held by them rather than by us. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter we send using the link at the bottom of it.
Our lawful basis: consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw at any time.
When you simply visit
Our web server and Cloudflare, the service that sits in front of the site to keep it fast and protect it from attacks, keep short term records of visits. These include your IP address. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people read each page; it uses no cookies and does not follow you between websites.
Our lawful basis: legitimate interests, specifically keeping the website secure, working and useful.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. We do use other companies to run parts of the site, and they only handle your information to do the job we ask of them.

We will also share information if the law requires us to, for example in response to a valid request from a public authority.
Where your information goes
Some of the companies above are based outside the United Kingdom, mostly in the United States. Where your information is transferred abroad, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

Your rights
Data protection law gives you the following rights over your information. They are free to use.
- To see it. Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- To correct it. Ask us to fix anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- To delete it. Ask us to erase it, though we may need to keep order records for tax purposes.
- To limit what we do with it. Ask us to pause using it while something is sorted out.
- To object. Tell us to stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests.
- To take it elsewhere. Ask for it in a portable format.
- To withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent, you can take it back at any time.

If you are unhappy
Please tell us first, so we have a chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection.
